Accreditation
The independent study section of Seminary Extension is one of the few
nationally accredited self-directed study programs offering theological

CEUs
For all those who need CEU credit, Seminary Extension is now giving
Continuing Education Units (CEU's) to persons qualifying for them through
Seminary Extension classroom work. These CEU's are not available by independent

Credit Transfer
A number of colleges have accepted Seminary Extension diploma courses toward
baccalaureate degrees. Any student desiring such transfer credit should clear
plans with the institution of choice before enrolling with Seminary Extension.
A student must take a monitored final examination provided by Seminary Extension
in order to qualify for course transfer credit. more >>

History
In the years following World War II, Southern Baptists became aware that many
of their pastors had only limited formal education for ministry. A denominational
study committee reported in 1949 that less than one-third of Southern Baptist
ministers had both college and seminary training. Another third at that time
had not gone past high school. more >>
